Is There a Particular Key to
Success?
There is not one particular key to success, there are many.
However, there are many myths surrounding this concept. Some of
the major points regarding the key to success are discussed
below.
Money is the key to success – False. Money, by itself,
is not the key to success, though it is a very important factor
in its establishment. There are people who inherit a great deal
of money but within a decade or so, they are almost penniless.
The success of a venture does not depend on the money, though
it is a very important factor.
Experience is the key to success – False. It is true
that experience can make you wise and put you on the path to
success. However, this too is not the key to success.
Experience is the butter on the bread.
Hard work is the key to success - True – without hard
work nothing is possible. Any success is the direct result of a
lot of hard work without which nothing is actually
possible.
Team work is the key to success – True – nobody can
succeed on his/her own. Success would be the outcome of the
joint efforts put in by the family, by the colleagues, by all
those who are involved with the work.
Thirst for improvement and knowledge is the key to success –
True – a true professional, never stops learning. A
successful person knows the importance of information and
knowledge and hence never allows himself/ herself to stagnate.
There will always be the thirst for knowledge and a continuous
improvement of skills will be important for a successful
person.
Motivation is the key to success – False – While
motivation is an extremely important factor in the overall
picture, motivation by itself has no value. Its value will be
visible when team work is in cohesive action and things work
out smoothly.
From the above, it is easy to see that there is not just one
key to success. When used together they will bring about luck
and prosperity. The above attributes are needed in different
measures in order to make that one key to success. The quantity
of each ingredient will be judged according to the individual
capacity and inclination.
It is not surprising the key to success is still elusive for
many people. Maybe with time, there will be many places where
the teenagers can come and ask for counseling regarding the
proverbial key to success.
