Do You Know How To
Dress For Success?
Ever since the Stone Age, man has
given more than required importance to the way he has dressed.
The first thing was always how he was dressed, followed closely
by what he ate. In the Modern Day, man has remained the same. A
good amount of success is the direct result of the way you
dress and behave.
What is Needed to Dress for
Success in an Interview?
During an interview you need to
create a positive impression on your prospective employees and
hence, the dress code will be very important. The safest bet
would be to dress formally – a business suit, tie, and black
shoes. However, there are times where a semi-formal dress code
would be more suitable.
In order to know what is best for
that particular interview, you will need to find out what type
of dress code the company follows and adapt to it. Whatever it
is, never go to an interview in casual wear as this is totally
unacceptable.
What About the Dress Code for
Day-To-Day Life?
In order to dress for success in
your day-to-day life you will need to develop a sense of quiet
elegance. You should practice combining an expensive way of
dressing without being loud. In case it is not possible to wear
high quality, costly garments, learn to buy good replicas of
designer clothes and wear them impeccably clean.
Be aware that your body odor adds
to the way you look. Hence, investing in some good perfume
(plus an effective deodorant) will go a long way to promoting a
positive first impression. With a little practice, you will
find that dressing for success has become an integral part of
your personality.
It is very important when you
cultivate the dress for success habit, to develop the required
etiquette as well. You should know how to address an
interviewer when you enter the room, you should know how to
offer a chair to a woman in a restaurant; you should know how
to dance at a formal party and so on.
Good manners are not to be
confused with etiquette. Etiquette refers to the correct social
formal behavior while manners are a general term accorded to
the accepted norms of behavior in a society. In other words, if
you dress for success without having the right attitude and
correct etiquette, it will get you
nowhere.
